- In January 2003, a woman named Camilini vanished from Waterbury, Connecticut. Years later, in April 2015, her body was discovered behind a shopping center, buried in a wooded area. Two other missing people, Nilsa Arizmendi and Janice Roberts (who was transgender), were also found buried there. Four other women’s bodies had been found at the same spot earlier.
A man named William Devin Howell was already convicted of manslaughter in the death of Nilsa Arizmendi in 2007. He had worried that finding her body would cause him trouble. Police think Howell killed the other six women, including Camilini, and possibly even more, but he’s only been charged with Arizmendi’s death.
