- Details of Disappearance:
- On May 22, 2013, Ashley Lowder vanished. She was last seen in Denton County, Texas, around 11 p.m.
Lowder had a troubled past, including a criminal record and a history of drug use. Her four children were in Child Protective Services care. She was living with a man named C.J. Stubblefield, and was involved in various schemes, including stealing from him and planning to steal his truck. She had also stolen jewelry from Stubblefield’s ex-girlfriend.
The day she disappeared, Lowder had a cleaning job at a woman’s house. The homeowner, Cheryl Hausenfluk, was the last person to see her. Although Lowder claimed to have cleaned the house, it was still dirty when police checked it later. Lowder’s cell phone, which she used very often, was last used at 8:25 p.m. that day.
Stubblefield’s truck, which Lowder had borrowed, was found abandoned later, containing stolen items, Lowder’s prison ID, and other belongings. Neither Stubblefield nor his ex-girlfriend are considered suspects. Lowder’s brother was supposed to take a lie detector test but never did. Stubblefield has since passed away.
Police searched the home where Lowder last worked, and a cadaver dog detected the possible presence of human remains, but nothing was found. Because of the suspicious circumstances, police believe foul play was involved in Lowder’s disappearance.
