- Candelaria went missing in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 15, 2003. Years later, in February 2009, her bones were found at a construction site in the West Mesa part of Albuquerque. Sadly, the bones of many other women (Jamie Barela, Victoria Chavez, Virginia Cloven, Syllannia Edwards, Cinnamon Elks, Doreen Marquez, Julie Nieto, Veronica Romero, Evelyn Salazar, Michelle Valdez, and her unborn baby) were found there too. Police still don’t know who killed them, and the case is still being investigated.
