Details of Disappearance:
In December 1976, eight-year-old Nelida disappeared in Boston, Massachusetts. She was walking to her elementary school, just a short distance from home, but never arrived.

Two weeks later, some of her clothes were found with a man named Anthony “Rudy” Flores. A woman told police he’d given her the clothes, and a witness said they’d seen Nelida walking with Flores. Flores had a fake police badge and gun, but police couldn’t prove he kidnapped Nelida, so he was released. Nelida’s family believed Flores might have pretended to be a police officer, as she was shy and wary of strangers but would likely trust an officer. Flores has also been connected to another missing girl’s case but never charged. There are unconfirmed reports he’s in prison for murder.

Eight years later, Nelida’s mother thought she recognized her daughter in a photo found in the apartment of a convicted criminal, David R. Collins. However, she later changed her mind, and the girl in the photo was someone else. Collins was also investigated in relation to another missing girl, but he wasn’t involved.

Nelida’s disappearance remains a mystery.
