- Details of Disappearance:
- Vigil disappeared on February 25, 2020, from Fortuna, California. He left his mom’s house that morning and never came back. He was supposed to pick up a check from a friend, but didn’t show up.
His phone last pinged near Titlow Road in Blue Lake. Even though he often went to the Blue Lake and Bear River Casinos, security cameras didn’t show him there that day.
Later that evening, his gray 2006 Ford F-250 truck was found abandoned in Weitchpec. A forester saw it, but didn’t report it right away; he noticed it was being broken into over the next few days. Police didn’t find out about the truck until mid-April.
Vigil owned property in Weitchpec, and his mom said it was also broken into and messed up after he vanished.
No one knows for sure what happened to Vigil. The case is still unsolved.
