- In August 1998, a woman named Bennett vanished from her home in Clarkston, Washington. She left her back door unlocked, her expensive rafting gear outside, and her car and dog missing. It looked like a hurried departure. A few weeks later, she was seen in Pullman, Washington.
About three weeks after she disappeared, her family reported her missing. Her car, a dark green 1995 Ford Mustang convertible, was later found abandoned in Tijuana, Mexico – unlocked, with the keys inside, and wiped clean of fingerprints. There was no sign of Bennett or violence.
Bennett was dating a man named Ronald Reagan (who used the alias Joseph Blake). Reagan disappeared a month before Bennett, after police wanted to search his van. Days after Bennett’s disappearance, police found a huge meth lab at Reagan’s house in Idaho – he was the main investor. This lab made millions of dollars worth of drugs.
Bennett had told her friend she suspected Reagan was involved in drugs and wanted to break up with him. Reagan and another man were arrested in 2000, but there were rumors a woman escaped with them – possibly Bennett. Reagan was convicted of drug charges and died in prison without ever talking about Bennett’s disappearance.
Bennett hasn’t used her credit cards or contacted family since 1998. She was declared legally dead in 2007, and her case remains a mystery.
