Details of Disappearance:
On December 7, 2010, Maria Diaz vanished after leaving her job at an H-E-B grocery store in San Antonio, Texas. Security footage shows her chatting with someone near her truck before she was supposed to pick up a lawnmower from her estranged husband, Pete Ruiz. They were divorcing, and Pete had been causing problems at her workplace, getting kicked out several times for arguing with her.

A few days later, Diaz’s truck was found abandoned near Ruiz’s house, but she was gone. Her purse was still inside. A private investigator thinks she returned home afterward, and something bad happened. Her shoes, covered in sand like the sand at Ruiz’s house, were found at her home, along with her clothes scattered on the floor – unusual for her tidy nature.

Police suspect foul play and have focused on Ruiz. Shortly after Diaz disappeared, he angrily asked about her life insurance policy, upset that he wasn’t the beneficiary. Although he’s been considered a suspect, he’s never been charged, and he claims he’s innocent. Police even searched their old home in Floresville, Texas, in 2018, but found nothing. The mystery of Maria Diaz’s disappearance remains unsolved.
