- Details of Disappearance:
- Tewangoitewa disappeared in May 1998. He was last seen leaving Gator’s Bar in Farmington, New Mexico, driving his sister’s car. He’d been at the bar with his sister and friends. His sister thought he was following her home to Bloomfield, but he never showed up.
Three weeks later, his burned-out car was found in a dry riverbed near Farmington. He wasn’t there. Police think he was murdered, but no one has been arrested. Sadly, the car was destroyed before investigators could properly examine it for clues. Tewangoitewa was a cosmetology student at the time, and his case remains a mystery.
