- Details of Disappearance:
- Elshani disappeared in Colorado Springs on March 29, 2008. The last time anyone saw her was around 1:15 AM on Rockrimmon Boulevard.
Three days later, police went to her apartment to check on her. They heard a gunshot and found her boyfriend, Daniel, dead from suicide. Elshani was gone. There were no signs of a struggle. Daniel had been facing serious legal trouble for harassing Elshani, including posting nude photos of her online.
Elshani and Daniel had a very difficult relationship, marked by violence and arguments. They had both been arrested for assaulting each other. Although Elshani was dating her ex-husband at the time of the online harassment, he’s not suspected in her disappearance.
Police searched Daniel’s car and found clues suggesting Elshani’s disappearance wasn’t an accident. He had driven to Woodland Park shortly after Elshani was last seen, but a search there found nothing. Investigators think if Daniel was responsible, he likely told someone. But nobody has come forward.
Elshani’s case is still a mystery. She had nine siblings and her family is still looking for answers.
