Details of Disappearance:
Ray Gricar, a district attorney in Pennsylvania, vanished on April 15, 2005. He left work early, driving his red Mini Cooper with a white top and special license plate (a picture exists). He called his girlfriend at 11:30 AM, saying he was heading east-northeast. He never arrived home, and she reported him missing that night.

His car was found the next day near the Susquehanna River, 45 miles from home. No Ray, no signs of violence, but there were cigarette ashes inside (Ray hated smoking). His phone was locked in the car, along with a water bottle with his DNA on it. His car keys were gone. Someone may have seen him near an antique shop (Ray liked antiques), seemingly waiting for someone.

His laptop and sunglasses were missing, but everything else was at home. The laptop was later found in the river, with the hard drive removed. The hard drive was found months later, too damaged to be useful. Oddly, searches for “how to wreck a hard drive” were found on his home computer before his disappearance.

His brother had mysteriously disappeared and died in a similar way years before. Police investigated if Ray was depressed and took his own life, but found no proof. There were some unconfirmed sightings of him after his disappearance. His finances were checked and were normal. His girlfriend and daughter passed lie detector tests.

The case remains a mystery. While foul play is considered a possibility, there’s no strong evidence to support any theory. He was declared legally dead in 2011.
