- On July 30, 2002, Scott disappeared from Grand Junction, Colorado. He left a note suggesting he might harm himself, and took a Glock handgun with him. His white 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck (Colorado plates 3NN473) was found abandoned in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area. Later, a bag belonging to Scott was discovered near Jet Lake – a place he liked to hunt – with only a fishing float tube missing. Despite the search, nobody knows what happened to Scott, and his disappearance remains a mystery.
