- Details of Disappearance:
- On January 1, 1994, two men, Remmer and Eugeniusz “Eugene” Pastula, set sail from Tarpon Springs, Florida, on a fishing boat called the “Miss Black Diamond.” They were going on a trip that was supposed to last 10 to 12 days.
A week later, on January 7th, the wrecked “Miss Black Diamond” was found in the Gulf of Mexico. The front part of the boat (the pilot house and cabin) were completely gone, and neither Remmer nor Pastula were on board. Police think a big storm destroyed the boat.
Despite a large search, neither man was ever found. They are believed to have died at sea.
There aren’t any pictures of Eugene Pastula, but he was a 48-year-old white man (born January 7, 1946), 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing around 180 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes.
Note: Some records say the men disappeared on January 20th, 1994, but their last known sighting was January 1st.
