- Two men, Cruz and Bienvenido Ortiz Rodriguez, vanished at sea in April/August 2000. They were last seen together on April 29, 2000, in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, on Cruz’s boat, “La Gaviota” (The Gull), which has the registration number PR5966AA. While Cruz was reported missing on April 29th, Rodriguez wasn’t reported missing until August 31st. Neither man, nor the boat, has ever been found. Cruz lived in the Santa Maria area of Ceiba at the time.
