- Details of Disappearance:
- On September 26, 2013, David LaBonte disappeared. He was last seen driving his black Ford Ranger pickup truck (Vermont plates: BME 507) from his home in Averill, Vermont. A few hours later, his house burned down. The fire was set on purpose (arson), and police think LaBonte might have started it himself.
His truck was found in the woods across the road a couple of days later, but LaBonte was gone. He was very sick and his family believes he may have taken his own life. They also think he might have had a gun with him.
Police searched everywhere but couldn’t find him. LaBonte loved the outdoors, so he might have gone to New Hampshire or New York. The mystery of what happened to him remains unsolved.
