- Maria Guerrero vanished from Atascadero, California on October 14, 1994. That evening, she had dinner with her ex-husband in Grover Beach, left her dog with him, and drove to Santa Barbara to see her sick daughter. She never arrived.
Ten days later, her car was found in Santa Maria, California. Her bags were in the car, but her purse and keys were gone. She’d had several thousand dollars with her – money from her ex-husband to pay bills and repay her abusive ex-boyfriend, whom she’d recently left.
Both her ex-husband and ex-boyfriend were questioned, but never charged. A tip led police to search near Orcutt, but they found nothing. Maria’s disappearance remains a mystery.
