- Distinguishing Characteristics Biracial (Asian/Caucasian) female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Norfleet has previously fractured her upper and lower jaw on both sides and she has surgical plates with pins in her maxilla. She was born with a cleft palate and had it surgically repaired. Norfleet has a scar on the center of her throat.
- Details of Disappearance:
- Norfleet vanished from her Bountiful, Utah home on June 20, 1993. Friends dropped her off, but she disappeared without a trace, leaving all her belongings behind. Her family didn’t report her missing for over two months because she sometimes disappeared for short periods, and they initially thought she had run away.
Police suspect Richard Sattler, a former church janitor in Bountiful who quit around the time Norfleet disappeared. He was questioned in Nevada while in jail for other crimes (kidnapping and robbery), but denied any involvement. Why he’s a suspect hasn’t been made public, and he’s now missing too.
Norfleet was unemployed and broke when she vanished. She was from Texas and had recently moved back in with her family after living with friends in Salt Lake City. She volunteered at an AIDS foundation. Her family believes something bad happened to her because it was unlike her to disappear without contact. The case remains a mystery.
