- McCracken disappeared in Hampton, Virginia on November 1, 2009. He was from North Carolina and had also lived in New York.
A drug dealer named Phillip Bryant confessed to killing three people, including McCracken. Bryant was part of a Brooklyn gang and ran a drug operation in Hampton. He killed McCracken during an argument about drugs, tried to chop up his body, and threw the remains in a dumpster. He also murdered two other men: one in a separate drug dispute, and another in revenge.
Bryant was sentenced to life in prison. Even though McCracken’s body was never found, police believe he was murdered.
