- Details of Disappearance:
- On November 10, 2008, Govan disappeared in Cordova, South Carolina. He was visiting friends and called his fiancée around 10:09 pm to say he was coming home. A gray Toyota truck then circled the area. Around 10:15 pm, the truck stopped near Govan, and a witness heard arguing and gunshots. Someone yelled, “I should kill you,” followed by more shots, and the truck sped off. Police found Govan’s phone, lighter, and many bullet casings at the scene. He’s never been seen since and is believed to have been kidnapped.
Earlier that day, Govan had an argument with another man, but it’s not clear if this is related to his disappearance. He had two young sons and lived on Sweetgum Lane. He had past drug-related crimes. His mother died a few months later. Because of the gunshots and his disappearance, police believe he was a victim of foul play.
