Details of Disappearance:
In October 2015, a man named House disappeared from a marijuana grow operation in a remote area of Trinity County, California. He was last seen sometime between 7 pm on October 11th and 4 am on October 12th.

House had stopped taking his medication a couple of weeks before, and was acting paranoid and sleepless, possibly due to withdrawal. On the night he disappeared, his brother said he seemed unusually quiet and withdrawn. His brother went to bed around 7:20 pm, leaving House sitting alone in his truck. The brother woke up at 4 am to the trailer door closing, assumed House had moved, and went back to sleep. When he finally checked on House around 10 am, he was gone. House left behind his truck, wallet, phone, and shoes.

Because the grow operation was illegal, his brother and family initially avoided contacting the police. They searched themselves, but were warned off by others involved in the marijuana industry. The police weren’t contacted until October 13th, and even with permission to search, the investigation was slow. Later searches by police dogs and private investigators found nothing.

House’s disappearance was completely out of character. He’d had some recent threats against his life. His family suspects foul play, but suicide is also considered a possibility. The case remains unsolved.
