- Shilah’s mom, who didn’t have legal custody, took her from West Palm Beach, Florida on April 13, 2005. Shilah had been living with her dad because child protective services had taken her away from her mom. A year later, in April 2006, they were found in Jamaica. Shilah’s mom was arrested, but is still in Jamaica waiting to be sent back to Florida to face charges. Shilah is safely back in Florida now.
