Details of Disappearance:: Sofia’s mom, who didn’t have legal custody, took her from Seattle on July 17, 1997. Sofia was missing for ten years, until she was found safe in Canada in September 2007. Her mom was arrested in Montreal for breaking immigration laws and will be sent back to the U.S. to face charges for kidnapping Sofia. Now, officials are helping Sofia get back to her dad.
