Details of Disappearance:
Seven-year-old Adele disappeared in Flint, Michigan on November 21, 1958. She was a second-grader who’d stayed home sick that morning but decided to go to school in the afternoon. After visiting her grandmother’s house nearby, she vanished.

Witnesses reported seeing a light-skinned African-American man in a gray coat and red socks carrying a young girl (around 8-10 years old) to a dirty black Chevrolet near Lewis Street. It’s not certain this man took Adele, but other kids from her school said a man in a similar car had tried to get them into his car in the days before Adele disappeared.

Adele was one of nine children in her family; her father worked in a Flint factory. The police investigated but never found Adele, and her case remains a mystery.
