Details of Disappearance:: Alan vanished from his Atlanta home on August 3, 2001. Police initially thought he ran away. Then, eight years later (July 2009), his skull was discovered in the woods not far from where he lived. He’d been shot in the head. More of his bones, in a plastic bag, were found nearby. It wasn’t until May 2010 that they knew the remains were Alan’s. The police are still trying to find out who killed him.
