Details of Disappearance:
On March 15, 1982, Shaw’s green 1972 Buick was found crashed into a tree near Highway 40 in Wagram, North Carolina. Shaw wasn’t there. His keys were in the ignition, and the headlights were on. It had rained heavily in the area around the time of the crash.

Two people said they saw Shaw walking along the highway south of Wagram the *next* day. He’s been missing ever since. A huge search, including the National Guard and Army, found nothing.

Shaw had different jobs – in theater, fixing mobile homes, selling ads, and working at a wastewater plant. He was a runner and often donated blood. He dressed casually and probably wasn’t wearing ID or jewelry when he disappeared. His father thought Shaw might have had a head injury in the crash and gotten amnesia, but he died in 2010. The mystery of what happened to Shaw remains unsolved.
