- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair. Tafralian is of Armenian descent.
- Details of Disappearance:
- John Tafralian disappeared in 1963. He was last seen at a bar in Manchester, New Hampshire, with a large amount of cash – his workers’ payroll. His car was found abandoned nearby the next day, with a stranger wiping down the steering wheel. His wife was out of state at the time.
Tafralian sold windows and siding, and may have also been secretly taking bets (a bookie). His family said he was a loving man who wouldn’t just vanish.
Police suspected foul play. In 2004, a metal detector found something large and metallic buried under a stream near a country club. Experts thought it might be Tafralian’s car, but a dig in 2013 found nothing.
Tafralian was from Massachusetts, studied piano, and his wife and one daughter have since passed away. His disappearance remains a mystery.
