- In March 2002, Vasquez vanished from Houston, Texas. Seven years later, in October 2009, some bones were found; they were so decayed that police couldn’t even tell if they were male or female, or what race the person was. It wasn’t until June 2011 that Vasquez was identified. His mom saw a news story about unidentified bodies and recognized some details. She gave the police her son’s dental records, which confirmed the bones were Vasquez’s. His mother will bury him in Colombia, his homeland. The police are still trying to figure out who killed him.
