The last time Evelyn was heard from was April 30th. She took Alexis to daycare on May 1st and used an ATM that day. Her boyfriend reported them missing a week later.

Evelyn’s wallet was found in a South San Francisco parking lot, near her boyfriend’s workplace. Her passport and Alexis’s passport were still at home. Police initially thought she might have left to have her baby in private, but this theory was abandoned.

In July, parts of Evelyn’s body (legs and torso) were found near the San Francisco Bay Bridge. DNA confirmed it was her. Alexis and the rest of Evelyn’s body, including her unborn baby, were never found.

The father of Evelyn’s unborn child, Herman Aguilera, a married airline mechanic, is a person of interest. He was initially cooperative with police but later hired a lawyer and stopped talking to them. He said he was home with his wife when Evelyn disappeared.

Some people have compared this case to the Laci Peterson murder, where a pregnant woman was killed, and her husband was convicted. However, police found no connection.

Evelyn was a loving mother and a vocational nurse. The circumstances of her death and Alexis’s disappearance strongly suggest foul play, but the case remains unsolved. Alexis has never been found.
