Details of Disappearance:
Alfred and Teresa, high school students whose parents worked at Fort Leonard Wood, went on a date on October 9, 1976, and vanished. Their car was found abandoned the next day, locked, with Alfred’s jacket and hairbrush inside – suggesting they didn’t leave willingly. They had plans for the future (college, hunting, a trip to Germany), and Alfred had money in the bank, making a runaway scenario unlikely.

Three months later, a military policeman, Johnny Lee Thornton, murdered three teenagers on a date nearby. He was convicted, but claimed insanity. Because Alfred and Teresa’s car was found near the murder scene, Thornton became a suspect in their disappearance. However, there’s no proof he was involved, and the mystery of what happened to Alfred and Teresa remains unsolved.
