- On December 14, 1968, two boys, Alfred and his friend Sammy, vanished in Monterey County, California. They left home early that morning to go fishing at Fisherman’s Wharf, something they did often. A bus driver saw them at 4:30 AM and dropped them off nearby.
They never came home. When Alfred didn’t return by 5:00 PM, his dad searched for him and then contacted the police.
No one knows what happened to Alfred and Sammy. The police aren’t sure, but Alfred’s parents think he didn’t run away because he had no problems and didn’t take any extra things with him. Alfred lived with his parents and two younger sisters in Marina, California. They later moved to Salinas.
The mystery of Alfred and Sammy’s disappearance remains unsolved. One possibility is that they drowned, but there’s no definite answer.
