He drank alcohol at the time of his 1989 disappearance.

- Hoffman disappeared in Phoenix, Arizona on July 2, 1989. He was last seen leaving with a friend in that friend’s car. Four months later, in November 1989, the friend was found dead, along with the car, about 25 miles outside of Meadview, Arizona. Hoffman wasn’t there. Not much else is known about what happened to him.
