Details of Disappearance:: In November 2003, David Theis went on a rock-collecting and hunting trip to Montana from Minnesota. He planned a short trip, telling his mom he’d be back by the end of the month. He stayed at a motel in Lewistown, but never checked out as planned. His truck was later found near the Missouri River; his rifle and hunting clothes were gone, but most of his belongings were still at the motel. Despite searches, he was never found. Although he used to live near the hunting area, he hadn’t been back in years. He was a skilled outdoorsman and a respected worker, so his disappearance was a mystery. After eight years, he was declared legally dead, and authorities think he got lost in the wilderness.
