Details of Disappearance:
Alma disappeared in Asheville, North Carolina, sometime in the summer of 2012. She was homeless and lived in the woods near Chunns Cove Road and Town Mountain Road. No one heard from her again until her family reported her missing almost two years later, in May 2014.

Alma was married to Clarence Octetree. Clarence has a long criminal history. He was the last person to see another Asheville woman, Regina Hendrix, who also disappeared in 2014 and was never found. Police talked to Clarence about both Alma and Regina’s disappearances, but haven’t said if he’s a suspect. (A picture of Clarence is available.)

In 2018, Clarence was arrested for kidnapping, raping, beating, and burning a woman in his apartment. He was later charged with trying to scare her into not testifying against him. He was convicted of assault in 2019 and sent to prison for 7.5 to 10 years.

Both Alma and Regina’s disappearances remain mysteries, and it’s still unknown if Clarence was involved.
