Details of Disappearance:: In 1991, 17-year-old Amanda ran away from home in Texas with her 24-year-old boyfriend, John. They moved to Missouri, where she pretended to be his wife, using a fake name and age. They had a baby girl, Meri. In 1993, John killed Amanda and hid her body. Police found her body, but didn’t know who she was. John went to prison for murder. After he got out, his mother raised Meri. Years later, Meri and her aunt found Amanda’s diary, which revealed her real name and family. DNA testing confirmed Amanda’s identity in 2012.
