Details of Disappearance:

In 1985, Fravel moved from California to Las Vegas. After living with a friend and then alone (which was too expensive), she shared an apartment with a roommate, Lew Frank, and worked at Taco Bell.

In June 1986, her mom sent her money for a visit home to California. Fravel was last seen on June 13th, leaving her apartment to get her paycheck and see her ex-boyfriend. She didn’t have a car, and while she’d sometimes hitchhiked, a friend said she’d stopped after a bad experience. She never reached either destination.

Weeks later, Fravel’s parents went to Las Vegas to investigate. They found Fravel’s apartment packed up, and her two hungry kittens, suggesting she wouldn’t have left willingly. Her parents and a friend suspected her roommate, Frank, who seemed shady. He was older than he claimed and gave conflicting information about his background. He has never been officially linked to her disappearance but his story raised suspicion.

Fravel had a difficult childhood, and while her mother bought her a plane ticket home, friends doubted she’d return voluntarily due to her family issues. She’d also mentioned wanting to visit a musician in Canada.

Police suspect foul play, but Fravel’s disappearance remains a mystery.
