Details of Disappearance:
Deanna Hoopes disappeared from her grandparents’ home in Idaho Falls, Idaho on September 14, 2001. She was last seen around 10:30 pm that night. Her grandmother woke up around 1:00 am to find Deanna gone, the back door unlocked, but her TV and lights still on. A pickup truck from her grandparents’ auto body shop was also missing; it was later found abandoned nearby with the keys in the ignition.

A man named Keith Hescock became a person of interest. He’d worked at the auto shop, had threatened Deanna’s grandfather, and was later involved in a violent incident where he kidnapped a girl, then committed suicide after a high-speed chase with police. While Hescock had connections to the family and the shop, police couldn’t definitively link him to Deanna’s disappearance.

Deanna left behind all her belongings, including her paycheck. She was described as quiet and close to her family, making her disappearance completely out of character. Because of her case, September 14th is now “Missing Persons Day” in Idaho Falls. Police believe she was abducted. The case remains unsolved.
