Details of Disappearance:
Cephas disappeared on May 4, 1984, at noon in Port Norris, New Jersey. She was riding her pink and white Huffy bike (a girl’s bike with a white banana seat, flowers on it, and “KC” on the handlebars) away from her home on Dragston Road. She left behind her purse, cigarettes, and watch, and her bike was never found.

Cephas told her sister she was going to see her ex-boyfriend, an older man who lived nearby. Her sisters believe this man was the father of her unborn child and that he didn’t want to be responsible. They suspect he was involved in her disappearance, as he wouldn’t help the police and later denied knowing her well.

Before she disappeared, Cephas mentioned running away, but her family doesn’t think she would leave without telling them where she was going, especially since she’d never lived anywhere else.

Police suspect foul play, but Cephas’s case remains unsolved.
