Details of Disappearance:
On October 29, 1982, Hamby left home in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to run errands. She was going to the bank, then visiting her sister nearby, before going shopping with her mom. But she never came home.

Her mom called the bank – Hamby hadn’t been there. Her car, a silver Mazda RX7, was found later that day, abandoned near a fast-food restaurant. Her purse and license were inside, but her keys and money were gone. A witness saw her at 11:30 a.m. in the car with a suspicious-looking blond man.

Hamby was a responsible person who wouldn’t just disappear. She had a good job, was going to college, and had plans for the future. Police investigated some suspects in 1987, but they were in jail at the time of her disappearance. The case remains a mystery.
