Three days later, Angela’s husband, Geoffrey, texted Ellie saying Angela was in a psychiatric hospital “down south.” He gave no details and ignored requests to visit her. Three weeks later, he claimed Angela had died of a stroke.

However, there was no funeral, no obituary, and Angela’s family in New York wasn’t notified. When Ellie finally told her aunt, they tried to get a death certificate, but found no record of Angela’s death.

The police investigated and Geoffrey changed his story, saying Angela ran away with a friend. This didn’t match the fact that Angela left all her belongings – purse, phone, car, etc. – behind. She also never used credit cards and rarely went out alone.

Geoffrey hired a lawyer and won’t cooperate. The police are concerned for Angela’s safety and her case is still open. They suspect something serious happened to her.
