- Details of Disappearance:
- Sherri Fullmer disappeared in December 2002. She was last seen with her boyfriend, Thomas O’Connell, near Lake Siskiyou, California. They’d been drinking and got into an argument in their truck. Fullmer walked off into the woods. O’Connell said he later heard a car drive away and assumed she’d gotten a ride. He didn’t report her missing until eight hours later.
Police initially thought she got lost, but bad weather made searching difficult. Now her disappearance is considered suspicious. Her mother thinks something bad happened to her, but O’Connell isn’t a suspect. Investigators don’t think she left on her own; she’d bought and wrapped Christmas presents and hadn’t touched her money since vanishing.
In 2003, some human bones were found near where Fullmer was last seen, but they weren’t hers. Fullmer was a single mom of six children (five she raised, one she’d given up for adoption) and had asked her mother to take care of them if anything happened to her. She had a minor criminal record but was close to her family and wouldn’t normally disappear without a word. The case remains a mystery.
