- Angela, a nun, disappeared from her Scranton, Pennsylvania home on April 27, 2018. She lived with her sister, Rosemary, and Rosemary’s son, Alan, in a duplex.
The day before Angela vanished, she and Rosemary got emergency protection orders against Alan because he’d threatened to kill them and their neighbors. Alan had a history of violence: he was a suspect in a murder (though never charged), served 10 years for child pornography, and a previous girlfriend also got a protection order against him.
The next morning, police went to serve the orders. Alan shot at them, set the house on fire, and then died in the blaze. Police found Rosemary and Alan dead inside. Blood was found in Rosemary’s car.
Police believe Alan killed Angela in the house, too, but her body was never found despite a thorough search of the burned-out home. They think he disposed of her body before killing Rosemary.
Angela is still officially missing, but investigators strongly suspect she was murdered by Alan.
