Details of Disappearance:
In June 2006, Angelica and her grandmother, Portia Washington, vanished from their South Carolina home along with Portia’s boyfriend, Kenneth Lynch, and her car. A few days later, Lynch was caught speeding in Texas driving Portia’s car, alone. He then withdrew all his money from the bank.

Later, he was arrested in Seattle trying to enter Canada. He was charged with stealing Portia’s car, even though he claimed she’d given it to him. He refused to help police find Angelica and Portia.

Police found Angelica’s blood mixed with Lynch’s blood in the apartment, leading them to believe Angelica and Portia were murdered. Two years later, Lynch was charged with their murders.

Family described Portia as a loving, responsible woman, and Lynch as abusive. After Portia disappeared, her bills went unpaid.

Lynch chose to have a judge, not a jury, decide his case. In 2012, he was found guilty of both murders and sentenced to life in prison. The bodies of Angelica and Portia have never been found.
