Details of Disappearance:
On February 23, 2011, in Alamosa, Colorado, a woman named Sandoval vanished. She’d been to the laundromat and brought some of her laundry, her phone, her one-year-old daughter, and the car seat inside her home. She went back outside for her purse and the rest of the laundry but never came back. Her brother found her gone about 10-15 minutes later. Her car door was open, keys in the lock, and her purse was near the car. Strangely, she left behind her phone and cigarettes, things she usually didn’t do.

This disappearance happened ten days before Sandoval was scheduled to testify against Jose Luis Meraz, a man who had allegedly broken into her home, threatened her and her baby, robbed her, and tied her up. Meraz was already in jail when Sandoval disappeared. Without her testimony, the charges against him were dropped, but could be reinstated if she’s found. Although Meraz denies involvement, the timing is suspicious. Police are investigating other people as well.

Sandoval was a waitress and the oldest of six siblings. Her family and the police believe she wouldn’t have left her baby. Her daughter’s father is in prison, and her grandmother now cares for the child. The case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected.
