- Tilden disappeared from Raytown, Missouri on July 9, 1987. The night before, she told her mom she wasn’t feeling well and was going to bed early. When she didn’t show up for work at the hair salon, her family checked on her. Her apartment looked normal, just a few dishes in the sink.
Ten days later, her car – a reddish-maroon 1986 Toyota Celica – was found abandoned nearby, parked strangely and with a dead battery. The keys were gone, and Tilden wasn’t there.
Tilden was divorced and her son was staying with his dad at the time. She was a responsible person who wouldn’t just disappear and always called work if she couldn’t make it. Her family thinks she was murdered, but the case is still a mystery.
