- On May 30, 1974, a woman named Price left her apartment to go to work at a club. She was driving her boyfriend’s car, a green AMC Gremlin. She never arrived at work and vanished.
Her car was found the next day abandoned along a road near Moundsville, West Virginia. Her purse and wallet were inside, but her makeup was messed up on the seat.
The police investigation in 1974 was poor; they didn’t even properly examine her car. The case was reopened years later, in 2009, after someone said Price had been shot and buried. This tip hasn’t been proven.
Price was dealing with a difficult divorce and custody battle at the time, but police couldn’t connect her ex-husband to her disappearance. She was close to her children and would never have left them willingly, according to her family.
Because of the circumstances, police believe she was likely a victim of foul play, but her disappearance remains a mystery.
