Details of Disappearance:
In June 1996, a man named Cavet disappeared. His mail carrier, the only person he regularly saw, reported him missing because she hadn’t seen him all month. Nobody else had either.

Cavet was a loner. He vanished along with his beige 1985 Ford pickup truck (license plate B340220), a truck with dual rear wheels and a special steel cover over the back window with three holes for seeing through. He’d only bought the truck three months before. There’s no record of him selling it.

His family said he was never one to leave without telling anyone, and this was very unusual. He loved his pets – dogs, goats, and cats – but they were abandoned and hungry when he disappeared, and animal control had to take them.

Police searched his 40-acre property but found no clues about what happened to him. There was no sign of a crime or that he died there.

Cavet was a retired railroad bridge tender, a job he held for over 30 years on the Intracoastal Waterway. He never married. To this day, his disappearance remains a mystery.
