Details of Disappearance:
Anthony and his three-year-old brother Ayden were camping with their mom, Kasey, and stepfather, Richard, near a river in Ohio. Their tent was very close to the riverbank. During the night, the boys wandered out of the tent, which wasn’t fully zipped up. Ayden, who had cerebral palsy and difficulty walking, was found drowned in the river. Anthony disappeared and was never found, but is presumed to have also drowned.

Police charged Kasey and Richard with manslaughter and child endangerment because they believed the parents were careless by camping so close to the river and not properly securing the tent. They were tried together, but their lawyers blamed each other. Initially, both were convicted and sentenced to prison. However, the convictions were overturned, and at a retrial, Richard was found not guilty. Kasey pleaded guilty to child endangerment and served some time in prison. Anthony’s body was never recovered.
