- Anthony, a high school student, was last seen in October 1978. He left home in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to stay with friends in Cedarville, Arkansas. A few months later, he and a friend went to Oklahoma (possibly Hartshorne or McAlester), but left after the friend’s uncle learned police were looking for them. They then lived with a man known for helping runaways, but Anthony ran away again when police visited the house for an unrelated reason. Police couldn’t confirm he was ever in Oklahoma. He might have returned to Fort Smith.
He hasn’t been seen or heard from since 1978. While initially considered a runaway (he was independent and sometimes disappeared briefly before), this was unusually long, and he always contacted his family. In 1980, the case became a missing person investigation, and police now suspect something bad happened to him.
