Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Sandy blonde hair, hazel eyes. April’s hair was dyed dark brown at the time of her 2000 disappearance, and she may wear eyeglasses. She has three black dots tattooed on her right hand between the base of her thumb and wrist. April has several scars underneath her right pinky finger, scars on her left hand, freckles and dimples on her cheeks, a scar on her right wrist and a scar near her left wrist. Her nickname is Squeaky. Her nose is pierced and her ears are double-pierced.

Details of Disappearance:

April disappeared from Wichita, Kansas on January 11, 2000. She was last seen near Pawnee and Broadway streets around 10:00 pm. She left her apartment with her keys and wallet (possibly a pager too), but left behind all her clothes, a cake, and $150 in cash. This makes it unlikely she ran away.

Two days later, she was supposed to testify in a rape trial, and while she wasn’t happy about it, she had agreed to do so. Police don’t know if this is connected to her disappearance.

April was living with a friend of her mom’s and had been acting rebellious lately, but seemed happy with her living situation. She sometimes talked about moving to California. Her mom fears April was kidnapped and possibly trafficked.

The case is still unsolved.
