- Barbara Hoover disappeared from her Nevada home on September 11, 2003. Her husband, Bob, said she left unexpectedly after a family inheritance dispute, taking some money and clothes but leaving her car behind. He claimed to have contacted her after she left, but offered no proof. Shortly after her disappearance, Bob bought a motorhome and went on a long trip. Barbara’s family believes she was murdered because she was a shy person who always kept in close contact with them and would never have left without saying goodbye. Though declared legally dead in 2018, Barbara’s disappearance remains a mystery. Bob died in 2019.
