- On August 20, 2013, at 5:18 PM, Stoffer disappeared. She was last seen driving her green 1997 Volvo (a four-door model) south on Highway 61 in Howardville, Missouri. The car’s license plate, 078RYW, was expired. Even though her driver’s license was also expired, she drove regularly.
A few months before she vanished, she had an accident, driving her car onto some rocks at a boat ramp. Police have searched the Mississippi River several times for her, even pulling out four other cars, but they haven’t found her or her Volvo. The mystery of what happened to her remains unsolved.
